Merge PDF

Combine multiple PDF files into a single document. Add files by drag and drop, reorder or remove them, then merge and download. The merge runs in your browser.

1. Add your PDFs

How to use the Merge PDF

  1. Drag your PDF files onto the drop area, or click it to browse. You can add more files at any time.
  2. Check the list. Each row shows the file size and page count. A file that cannot be read is flagged, and you need to remove it before merging.
  3. Set the order: drag a row to a new position, or use the Move up and Move down buttons next to each file. The merged PDF follows the list from top to bottom.
  4. Click Merge. When it finishes you will see the total number of pages and the size of the new file.
  5. Click Download merged PDF to save merged.pdf. Changing the list afterwards clears the result, so merge again if you reorder.

How the merge works

Your browser reads each PDF in the order shown, copies every page into a new blank document, and writes that document out as one file. The pages are copied as they are, not turned into pictures, so text stays selectable and searchable.

Each file is opened separately. If one file is damaged, is not really a PDF, has no pages, or is password protected, the tool names that file instead of failing silently, and the rest of your list is unaffected.

Qwikora does not upload your files. The PDF library is part of the page you loaded, so the merge runs in your browser.

pages in merged PDF = pages in file 1 + pages in file 2 + ... + pages in file N

Assumptions and limits

  • Whole files only: you cannot pick individual pages from a file.
  • Password-protected PDFs are not supported and must be removed from the list.
  • Bookmarks, interactive form fields and other document-level features may not be kept in the merged file.
  • Everything is processed in memory: limits are 50 files, 100 MB per file, and a warning above 300 MB in total.
  • The merged file's Producer and Creator metadata is set to Qwikora; other document properties of the source files are not copied.

Practical examples

Reordering before you merge

You have three PDFs: a 1-page cover letter, a 2-page report and a 3-page appendix. Drag the 3-page file to the top and the merged PDF has 6 pages: the three appendix pages first, then the cover letter, then the two report pages. The page count is the sum of the files, and the order follows your list.

Building one bundle from several scans

Merging a 5-page cover document, two 1-page signature sheets and a 12-page annex gives one PDF of 19 pages (5 + 1 + 1 + 12). The signature sheets land on pages 6 and 7 and the annex starts on page 8.

A protected file in the list

If one file needs a password, its row shows a Password protected badge and the message “secret.pdf is password protected”. Remove that file, or save an unprotected copy from the program that created it, and add it again.

Frequently asked questions

Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?

No. The merge runs in your browser using code that is already loaded with the page, and the files are not sent anywhere. Closing or reloading the tab discards them.

Can I merge a password-protected PDF?

No. The tool does not try to open protected files; it flags them and asks you to remove them. Remove the password in the program that created the file, then add it again.

Will bookmarks and form fields survive the merge?

Not guaranteed. The tool copies pages, and document-level extras such as bookmarks or interactive form fields may not carry over to the merged file. Open the result and check anything you rely on.

How many files and how much data can I merge?

Up to 50 files, with each file up to 100 MB. A total above 300 MB triggers a warning because everything is held in your device's memory, so very large batches may be slow or fail, especially on phones.

Why does a file show "Could not read"?

The file is probably damaged, truncated, or not a real PDF, even though its name ends in .pdf. Remove it from the list, or re-export it from the original program and add it again.

Can I merge only some pages of a file?

Not in this tool: each file is added in full. To use only part of a document, extract or delete the pages you do not need first, then merge the result.
